I think you are confusing your "Christian" values and the bible. I believe that the God of the bible did command his people to go to war over the acquiring of their promised land, the walls of Jericho fell and the people of Jericho were destroyed. If the tables were turned and the men doing the water boarding were being interrogated by the men accused of the 911 attack, how much mercy would they be shown? I doubt they would have survived the eight years.
